49ers | Colin Kaepernick played through foot injuries

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick said his foot sustained a bone chip on the forefoot and a ruptured capsule on the ball in Week 2 of last season. In the following four games, he averaged fewer than 16 rushing yards per contest. The Niners tried to reduce risk for him any way possible until he was at full strength. His production on the ground increased as he healed, and San Francisco allowed him to do designed runs in the postseason.
In the article, Maiocco guesses that it was Kap's left foot that sustained the injury. The fact Kaepernick ran for 524 yards last year -- the second highest in a single season for a Niners QB -- said there's more in store as long as he's healthy. He's an excellent low-end QB1 pick with upside for more.
