Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater fine with backup role

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater said he'd be fine with serving in a backup role in his rookie season. Bridgewater missed only three passes all day during organized team activities Thursday, June 5, and marched the team down the field during the two-minute drill. He had some first-team snaps Thursday, but QB Matt Cassel had the majority of the starting repetitions and is expected to enter training camp as the No. 1 quarterback. "Right now, I'm just learning from Matt." Bridgewater said. "He's a veteran right now, and I notice the things that he's doing when he's in the huddle. I'm taking notes from him and Christian also. Those guys have had past success."
The Vikes have no reason to rush Bridgewater into the starting role with Cassel around. We fully expect Cassel to be the starter in Week 1, but Bridgewater has a decent chance of unseating him at some point if Cassel doesn't get the job done.
