Jets | In position to free up plenty of cap space

The New York Jets could find themselves more than $40 million under the salary cap, if they release QB Mark Sanchez, WR Santonio Holmes and CB Antonio Cromartie, as expected. Letting Cromartie go would free up $9.5 million of cap space, releasing Holmes would free up $8.25 million and getting rid of Sanchez would give the team $8.3 million if he is not designated as a "June 1" cut. Sanchez's $2 million roster bonus is not due until March 25.
