Redskins | Owner won't intervene with Robert Griffin benching

Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder reportedly will not intervene if head coach Mike Shanahan benches QB Robert Griffin III for the final three regular season games this year. "He won't step in and interfere with that," a person familiar with the situation said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the topic. "He's not going to step into a personnel decision that way." Shanahan said he'll decide by Wednesday, Dec. 11, whether to sit Griffin in favor of QB Kirk Cousins.
It's risky to rely on RG3 this weekend, as it looks as though the chances are increasing that he won't play again this year. Cousins has looked good the few times he's filled in for Griffin, but it wouldn't be smart to trust him with your season on the line.
