Packers | Not much running room for Eddie Lacy
Thu, 21 Nov 2013 10:07:47 -0800
Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy hasn't found much room to run ever since QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) was injured. Opponents have loaded the box with extra defenders to gang up on Lacy with Rodgers out, and it has worked. The Packers have faced seven or more defenders in the box nearly twice as much with Rodgers out as they did in the first eight games. Green Bay has ran for just 154 yards in their last two games, both losses. The New York Giants hit Lacy at or behind the line of scrimmage on 10 of his 14 carries, and he averaged only 1.9 yards per carry.
Lacy is still a must-start in fantasy circles, but until Rodgers returns, expect this trend to continue in earnest. Downgrade him in your weekly rankings again for Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings.
