Bears | Jay Cutler more realistic

Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (groin) acknowledged that he isn't a lock to return to face the Detroit Lions in Week 10. Cutler has tried platelet-rich plasma injections, an ARP machine and has gone on a strict diet in order to return earlier than expected from his groin tear, but ultimately it won't be up to him when he comes back. "I was aiming for the Green Bay game, and that didn't happen. So I don't think we can say I'll be out there for the Detroit game," Cutler said. "We're trying everything we can to get out there. It feels good, but I haven't practiced. I haven't been in a live situation and done all the cuts and the drops and saw how it felt yet."
Pump the brakes on Cutler returning this weekend. That probably won't happen based on the way Josh McCown has played. However, it wouldn't hurt to scoop Cutler up if he's available on the wire, especially if you own Aaron Rodgers (collarbone).
