Vikings | Adrian Peterson's injury not new

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) has been dealing with a right hamstring injury for four or five weeks. It started as a bruise, but he's not worried that he'll have to miss any time. Peterson ran for just 28 yards on 13 carries in Week 7 against the New York Giants. "I feel like it was more in my mind. It's strange to say that, but I think I was kind of holding myself back, not being able to stretch out and really run. I think I was kind of hindering myself. Now that I'm able to be more relaxed and got a clearer mind, I think I'll be able to go out there and roll full-speed."
Minnesota's lack of a running back is disappointing, and it's mainly because of the inconsistencies they've had at the quarterback position. Christian Ponder may provide the most stability they've had in recent weeks, giving hope that AD will get more touches Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. You can't bench Peterson.
