Jets | Geno Smith on a week-to-week basis

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan continues to say that QB Geno Smith is the team's starting quarterback on a week-to-week basis despite raving about his improved play and the fact that he can "make all the throws." "I'm definitely ready to say he's our starting quarterback this week against Cincinnati," the coach said playfully. Smith currently has more wins than New York Giants QB Eli Manning, a higher completion percentage than New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and more 40-plus-yard passes than New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck. However, he's also third in the league in interceptions with 11.
We don't buy that Smith is still on a week-to-week basis as the team's starting QB. This is his team, and they'll sink or swim with him. He'll make for a frustrating play as a backup QB thanks to the learning curve that he'll be on in his rookie season.
