Patriots | Rob Gronkowski not cleared

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) has not yet been cleared to play by Dr. James Andrews, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Gronkowski has been limited in every practice during the regular season, however, and head coach Bill Belichick continues to list Gronkowski as day-to-day. "There's a huge difference between being cleared to practice and being cleared to play in a game," Rosenhaus said. "I've had great dialogue with coach Belichick and the Patriots' medical staff and Rob and his family. Everybody's on the same page, except it's gotten a lot of play in the media and all these unsubstantiated sources." Gronkowski has gone as far as being tackled in practice, which has led many to wonder why he has yet to make his season debut. He will return to game action only after Andrews has cleared him.
Not much has changed for Gronk over the last few weeks. He's close, but it's not looking like Week 7 will be the week he returns. Disappointment for those that drafted him continues. You'll have to continue to rely on your backup tight end or the waiver wire for another week.
