Vikings | Adrian Peterson held in check
Mon, 14 Oct 2013 09:46:05 -0700
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson ran for just 62 yards on 10 carries and chipped in 21 yards on three catches in his team's blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 6 just two days after the death of his two-year-old son. He posted half of his yards on the ground on a 31-yard carry in the third quarter. "Anything bad, I try to take good from it," Peterson said. "That's the way I approach life in all situations. I never thought about not playing. It was all about just going out there and praying that I have the strength to get through and help my team. That was my focus."
Trying to predict how AD would respond after a personal tragedy like that was impossible. It probably had some effect, but the Panthers' stingy defense shouldn't be overlooked, either. Peterson will bounce back.
