Cowboys | Want to run the ball more

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said the team needs to put more of an emphasis on the running game in order to balance out the offense after their 17-16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. RB DeMarco Murray had only 12 carries against the Chiefs and didn't run the ball after the 2:12 mark in the third quarter. "Obviously we want to have more balance, not only more balance at the end of the game but more balance throughout the game," Garrett said. "We have to run the ball more than 16 times in the game, and we have to be able to run it throughout the game. We just simply have to do a better job of that." The Cowboys are averaging 62 yards rushing through the first two weeks.
The Cowboys preached the same thing after their Week 1 victory, and they led that entire game. It's frustrating to see for Murray owners, but if the team remains committed to improving their offense, he needs to touch the ball more.
