The coaching staff of the Miami Dolphins is impressed with the progress of TE Charles Clay, who has 163 receiving yards through the first two games. "He's playing faster. His play speed is better," head coach Joe Philbin said Monday, Aug. 16. "He's a smart player."
Clay is starting to draw the eye of fantasy owners, too, as he is 21st in the league in receiving yards - and fourth among players who do not play wide receiver. Still, he is a fringe fantasy player in leagues of 12 or fewer players until he can show this type of production on a longer-term basis.
