New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese said the team expects RB David Wilson to be the starter in the regular season. "We expect [Wilson] to be our starter, and be in the backfield with RB Andre Brown, who had a terrific season going last year until he got hurt," Reese said. "[Brown's] had the injury bug a little bit since he's been in the league. But if he can stay healthy, and David Wilson comes on like we expect him too, we think we can have a pretty dynamic backfield."
Even with Wilson winning the job, it is expected that Andre Brown will still get his share of the carries, especially in short yardage and goal line situations. This is still very much a situation that could play out as a running back by committee role.
