Eagles | More on Michael Bamiro signing

Philadelphia Eagles OT Michael Bamiro has been guaranteed a portion of his base salaries for his first two seasons in part to offset the fact that he received a low signing bonus, according to a source. He was reportedly rated a fourth- to sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he learned that he had exhausted his eligibility at Stony Brook last season because he began attending the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 as a student only. Stony Brook appealed on his behalf for an additional season of eligibility but was denied. He was also declared ineligible for the supplemental draft, which took place last week. Former Eagles OT Tra Thomas had been training Bamiro and oversaw his workout last week in front of 22 NFL teams, several of which made strong attempts to sign him. He was a right tackle at Stony Brook and could eventually be a threat to OT Jason Peters' playing time.
