Chargers | Keenan Allen worked with first team

San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen worked with the first-team offense on the final day of the team's minicamp WRs Danario Alexander and Eddie Royal dinged up with undisclosed injuries. Allen said he's comfortable with the playbook and the offense's terminology. "He's done a nice job buying into what we're doing," head coach Mike McCoy said. "It's a change for him. We're moving guys around, and the skill-position guys really need to know every position because you never know when Philip is going to check at the line of scrimmage. You have an idea where you're playing, but when it comes to a formation, Philip can audible something whenever he wants. ... You've got to know every position."
It'll be tough for Allen to earn a starting role at a position that's probably the deepest on San Diego's depth chart. Alexander, Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown figure to rotate often, and the Chargers also have Royal and Robert Meachem. Barring an injury or unforeseen change, it's probably best to leave Allen for the waiver wire in redraft leagues.
