Jets | More on QB struggles

New York Jets QB coach David Lee said QB Geno Smith's adjustment from his West Virginia to this West Coast offense has been a struggle. "[He's] just struggling with basic things, snap count at the line of scrimmage, delivery in the huddle can be more consistent. Little things are really what's killing him, but he's competed well and he's shown us he's got a really good arm." Lee said, however, that he expects Smith to be ready to go by September. Lee said Mark Sanchez is struggling to protect the ball and must cut down on turnovers. The Jets have been doing a gauntlet drill -- they call it the "Sanchez Drill" -- where they try to knock the ball loose from his hands.
More follies from this volatile fantasy position that shouldn't be recognized as anything more than a low-end backup. Sanchez looks like he may be in the early lead, but much can change come August.
