Browns | Brandon Weeden working as starter
Thu, 16 May 2013 10:10:32 -0700
Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden opened up this week at the team's offseason team activities as the starter, with QB Jason Campbell relegated to second-team duties. It appears that the starting quarterback job will be Weeden's to lose this year. The team is hoping Weeden fits better in head coach Rob Chudzinski's aerial attack than he was in former head coach Pat Shurmur's West Coast offensive system.
It's a positive that Cleveland will look to attack through the air more often under Chudzinski, but their receiving weapons remain largely unchanged, excluding the addition of Davone Bess. Greg Little and Josh Gordon are excellent deep threats but remain mostly inconsistent and frustrating. This offense will continue to run through Trent Richardson. Weeden could be a decent backup QB option, but don't expect much more.
