Ravens | Ray Rice wants more action in passing game
Tue, 14 May 2013 16:29:41 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice, who has caught 311 passes for 2,713 yards in the last five years, wants to increase his role in the team's passing game this year. Rice caught 61 passes for 478 yards and one touchdown last season. Rice leads all running backs in the last five years with 91 catches and 863 yards on third downs. He set a franchise record for a running back with 78 receptions for 702 yards and a touchdown in 2009. Rice said that run-game coordinator Juan Castillo will make slight changes to the running game this season.

Rice remains a No. 1 running back, especially in point-per-reception leagues because of his involvement in the passing game. However, he has tons of mileage on his wheels, and at this point in his career, you have to expect some decline in production. He might wind up producing more in line with a No. 2 in regular formats this year.
