Panthers | Steve Smith to get more in-season rest

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera plans to give WR Steve Smith more rest during the regular season in order to keep him healthy. "I think we have to be smart with Steve, make sure we put him in position to take advantage of his abilities and maximize his time and not waste his time or reps. So he's getting quality reps and quality plays," Rivera said.
Smith has said he wants to play several more years, and he is healthy this offseason. The Panthers want to keep it that way. He will once again be a solid WR2/3 or flex fantasy play in 2013, and his fantasy owners will appreciate the extra rest and health preservation.
