Wood Brothers Racing driver Trevor Bayne (illness) said Tuesday, Nov. 12, that he has multiple sclerosis, but he doesn't think it will affect his career. He will compete in the Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. His younger sister also has the disease. Multiple sclerosis is a disease in which the immune system attacks the central nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. Symptoms can include fatigue, paralysis and loss of vision, and there is no known cure. Bayne remains scheduled to drive full time for Roush Fenway Racing next year in the Nationwide Series and part time for WBR in the Cup Series.
