Stewart-Haas Racing | Danica Patrick's weight not an issue

Stewart-Haas Racing driver Danica Patrick's lack of weight compared to the other Sprint Cup drivers is unlikely to give her an advantage in the series. According to the NASCAR rule book, drivers who weigh less than 180 pounds have to add 10 pounds to their car for every 10 pounds down to 140. The maximum penalty would be 40 pounds. Patrick is weighing in at 110 pounds currently. "There's two thought processes," series director John Darby said when asked whether a lighter driver could have an advantage. "One is the heavier driver will help compress the springs more and help pull the car down out of the air."
