Tue, 14 Aug 2012 09:05:10 -0700

Stewart-Haas Racing are 100 percent focused on keeping driver Ryan Newman with the team and in the No. 39 car for next year's Sprint Cup season. Newman is a candidate for the No. 22 car at Penske Championship Racing, too. "My goal is to stay at Stewart-Haas and keep doing what we're doing, and we're working on that," Newman said. The two sides are close to an extension that could be announced sometime this week.
