Arizona Diamondbacks SP Bronson Arroyo (elbow), who won't throw for 10 days due to a strained ulnar collateral ligament and irritation in the flexor mass in his right elbow, is just hoping he can avoid Tommy John surgery. He is hoping he can return to throwing by the All-Star break. Arroyo said his elbow has bothered him in his last six starts. General manager Kevin Towers said he doesn't think this injury is related to the bone chip that was revealed in an MRI exam during a preseason evaluation. SPs Zeke Spruill and Mike Bolsinger are both options to replace Arroyo in the starting rotation. SP Archie Bradley (elbow) will not be an option, as he's working his way back from an elbow sprain. Bradley tossed three innings in a rehab start Monday, June 16.
