Updating a previous item, the Detroit Tigers avoided arbitration with RP Phil Coke Thursday, Nov. 21, by agreeing to a one-year, $1.9 million deal. He will receive a $50,000 bonus if he pitches in 60 games next year and additional bonuses of $50,000 for 65 and 70 games. Coke went 0-5 with a 5.40 ERA in 49 games last year.
