Cubs | Likely to pick up most of Alfonso Soriano's salary

The Chicago Cubs are expected to pick up a large portion of OF Alfonso Soriano's remaining salary if he is traded before the deadline. Soriano is making $17 million this season and is due $18 million next year. The Cubs have scouted New York Yankees P Chase Whitley as a player they are interested in receiving in a package for Soriano.
