Padres | Carlos Quentin tweaks stance
Wed, 03 Jul 2013 16:17:33 -0700

San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin received some tips from hitting coach Phil Plantier in altering his stance to take stress off his troublesome, surgically repaired right knee. He's standing more upright in the box as opposed to the deep crouch, and the club believes this will help preserve his health. In his last 30 games, Quentin is batting .343 with 12 extra-base hits (including five homers), 11 RBIs and a .433 on-base percentage, raising his clip from .178 to .266 heading into action Wednesday, July 3.
