Red Sox | Joel Hanrahan to undergo season-ending surgery

Updating a previous report, Boston Red Sox RP Joel Hanrahan (forearm) said that he has decided to undergo season-ending surgery next week to repair a damaged flexor tendon in his right arm. The procedure will be performed by Dr. James Andrews and will require six to nine months of recovery time. If Andrews discovers ligament damage, Tommy John surgery could also be required.
