Rangers | Nelson Cruz gets day off

Texas Rangers OF Nelson Cruz, mired in a 2-for-23 slump, and batting just .175 over his past 17 games, was held out of the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 11, against the Cleveland Indians. However, manager Ron Washington claimed that the slide isn't the reason Cruz received the rest after the scheduled day off Monday, Sept. 10, as the skipper tries to get his players fresh for the stretch run and postseason.
