Marlins | Tried hard to trade Carlos Lee

The Miami Marlins tried hard to trade 1B Carlos Lee to the New York Yankees before the trade deadline, but he rejected a deal. The Marlins failed to agree on a cash price to send him to the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees agreed to buy Lee for $1 million but New York was one of the teams on Lee's no-trade list, so he rejected the deal. The Marlins were asking the Orioles for $2.5 million for Lee, and Baltimore declined the offer. Lee could still be traded this month if he passes through waivers.
