Texas Rangers SP Yu Darvish was able to throw 66 percent of strikes with his two-seam and four-seam fastball in his dominating win over the New York Yankees Tuesday, April 24. He also threw strikes early in the count, helping set the stage for his 10 strikeouts. Darvish threw first-pitch strikes to 21 of 33 hitters Tuesday (63.6 percent).

He's starting to use a cut fastball more often, too. Darvish threw 20 of his 27 cutters for strikes Tuesday, making his "truer" fastballs more effective. He induced 15 swings-and-misses during the outing.
