Cubs | Brett Jackson unaffected by deal
Sat, 21 Apr 2012 19:03:26 -0700

Chicago Cubs OF Brett Jackson is mostly unaffected by the deal of OF Marlon Byrd to the Boston Red Sox Saturday, April 21. It was a deal made due to Byrd's contract status, and not one to open up a spot on the 25-man roster for Jackson. President of baseball operations Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer remain determined not to rush along prospects, and promote them only when they believe the player is major league-ready.
