Chicago Cubs SP Jeff Samardzija allowed five runs and eight hits in just 3 2/3 inning in a loss at the hands of the Miami Marlins Thursday, April 19, for his first loss on the year. He walked five and struck out three in the outing to push his ERA to 5.71.
