Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) said he did not do much running or cutting during practice Friday, Sept. 4. McCoy does not know if he will be able to play in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to see what McCoy ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) can do during practice next week to determine if he will be able to play next week. He will be a risky option on FantasyScore if he plays, so owners may want to look at other options available.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been sidelined for a few weeks because of an undisclosed injury, and his status for Week 1 is uncertain. Williams likely would see limited playing time if he is able to play and should not be an option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) has been sidelined for a few weeks because of the hamstring injury but appears to have a chance to play Week 1. Owners will have to check on his practice participation next week because he could be a solid option on FantasyScore.

Buffalo Bills PK Dan Carpenter may be on the bubble for 2015, as he appears to be in head coach Rex Ryan's doghouse entering the season. "I'm tired of seeing us miss a field goal. We'll certainly be looking. Nobody earns this job by default," Ryan said.
Fantasy Tip: Don't be surprised if Ryan pulls the trigger and cuts Carpenter before the final roster trims are made. This could be a case where someone is on thin ice.

Buffalo Bills WR Andre Davis has stepped up his game, outperforming seventh-round drat pick WR Dezmin Lewis during training camp and the preseason. The undrafted pick might have at least positioned himself for a practice squad spot after working his way up the ranks.

Buffalo Bills WR Dezmin Lewis is a raw receiver who has showed glimpses of brilliance in training camp and the preseason. He might be headed for the practice squad, although the team could keep him on the active roster rather than risk losing him via waivers.

Buffalo Bills WR Deonte Thompson (undisclosed) has put the heat on WRs Marquise Goodwin and Chris Hogan for the fifth and sixth spots on the active roster, and his performance in training camp and preseason might force the team to keep seven receivers on the 53-man roster. He might need another big performance in the preseason finale Thursday, Sept. 3, but he is dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Buffalo Bills QB Matt Simms is not believed to be in line to make the 53-man roster, and "the odds are stacked against" him according to head coach Rex Ryan. However, if the team elects to cut QBs Matt Cassel or EJ Manuel, that could change things dramatically.

Buffalo Bills WR Marcus Thigpen was considered outside looking in at the start of training camp and the preseason, but he has proved his worth in the return game and is making it difficult on the team to cut him from the 53-man roster.

Buffalo Bills TE Chris Gragg was considered a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but he is still around and has had a strong training camp and preseason. The team is likely to keep four tight ends, and that bodes well for Gragg.

Updating an earlier report, Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) may not be in great "football shape" once Week 1 rolls around, according to a source. He's not at full speed in practice but is doing rehab work including light footwork, agility and cardio conditioning. A source told ESPN's Josina Anderson McCoy's MRI showed, what was described internally as, a "small tear," adding: "They say it tore in a spot where it couldn't have been any better for us. It tore in a spot that is kind of high up, surrounded by stronger muscles in the glutes and things like that."
Fantasy Tip: McCoy doesn't sound like a great daily play on FantasyScore for Week 1, but he's still a legit RB1 in traditional leagues. Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown could be one-week plays in the opener.

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) seems to be in some danger of missing the season opener Sept. 13. "Well we certainly expect him to be ready to go, I hope," coach Rex Ryan said Monday, Aug. 31. "If not then the next man has to step up. Boobie (Anthony Dixon) got a lot of reps out there today. Bryce Brown got a lot of reps today. So we will see. I am not going to put that all on one man. If he is not ready to go, he won't be in there."
Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on the situation if you're a McCoy owner, obviously. However, this also means that Dixon and/or Brown could be excellent one-week plays in traditional leagues and FantasyScore.
