Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles March 4, and Bills head coach Rex Ryan said the trade took 30 minutes to wrap up. "The trade for LeSean happened really quick," Ryan said at the NFL owners meetings. "We were all sitting there. We were having organizational meetings. ... And all of the sudden we get this call from Philadelphia and I think that was when the trade started. Probably 30 minutes later, the trade was done."
Fantasy Tip: Shady moves to a ground-and-pound approach in Buffalo under Ryan, but the move is likely a mixed bag for his 2015 fantasy value. To be safe, he's better viewed as a high-end RB2 with potential for more depending on how Buffalo uses McCoy and Fred Jackson together.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like the team will feature McCoy heavily, which helps shed doubt on Jackson's involvement. Jackson's value falls to the high-end RB4 territory, while Shady is best served as a midrange RB1.

Buffalo Bills DT Kyle D. Williams will get a $4.5 million signing bonus and a $4.5 million base salary in 2015. His base salary in 2016 is $6 million, and it rises to $6.3 million in 2017. Williams will also receive $500,000 bonuses on the fifth day of the 2016 and 2017 league years.

Buffalo Bills RBs LeSean McCoy and Fred Jackson are expected to receive a lot of carries in head coach Rex Ryan's offense. Ryan went as far as to say: "we're going to run it 50 times if we can on you."
Fantasy Tip: This really doesn't change much because it's not often that you can run the ball effectively 50 times against another NFL team. Shady McCoy is a mid-to-low RB1 right now, while Jackson's fantasy appeal is a little clouded. He could be a low-end RB2 or a high-end RB3.

Fantasy Tip: Manuel and Cassel appear to be the most likely candidates to win the starting job, but Taylor could have a shot depending on his work in the offense. Owners should consider whoever wins the starting job as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season.

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan said the team would prefer to be a running team next season. "We prefer to ground and pound it, we're going to run it 50 times if we can on you," Ryan said. Ryan said he knows the offense has to be balance, which is why the team signed TE Charles Clay and WR Percy Harvin this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: LeSean McCoy should see plenty of carries under Ryan and offensive coordinator Greg Roman. McCoy did see his rushing yards and touchdowns drop this past season, but he should still be an option in first rounds of drafts next season.

Buffalo Bills QB EJ Manuel is not locked in as the starting quarterback. Head coach Rex Ryan said Friday, March 20, that the quarterback competition will be open. "It's a competition and whoever earns the job will be the guy that's out there," Ryan said. "We have some talented guys and we'll see what happens. You bring in a veteran like (QB Matt Cassel). He's done some pretty good things in this league. He's got that veteran presence about him. With EJ back there just going into his third year I really believe EJ is going to improve with his fundamentals having (QB coach David Lee) here."
Fantasy Tip: The winner of the three-way battle between EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor will be a fantasy backup at best, but they might be worth using in FantasyScore when the matchup is a favorable one.

Buffalo Bills QB Matt Cassel will have a chance to win the starting quarterback job in training camp and the preseason. He's got that veteran presence about him."
Fantasy Tip: Cassel hasn't been a fantasy option in quite some time, but if he were come in and steal the show, he could re-emerge as a decent fantasy backup option in standard leagues. He would also have some value in FantasyScore when the matchup is favorable.

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor will be given a chance to start, fighting in a three-way battle with QBs Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel Head coach Rex Ryan said Friday, March 20, that the quarterback competition will be open. "It's a competition and whoever earns the job will be the guy that's out there," Ryan said. "We have some talented guys and we'll see what happens."
Fantasy Tip: Taylor hasn't done much of anything in this league yet, but if he were able to nail down the starting job he would have some value in FantasyScore when the matchup is a good one.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Percy Harvin signed a three-year, $24 million deal that can be voided in the final two seasons. He'll receive a signing bonus of $3 million with a base salary of $2.9 million and a $100,000 workout bonus for this season. The Bills will receive some salary cap relief in 2015 with the deal, and the signing bonus will be prorated over the duration of the contract.

Miami Dolphins transition free-agent TE Charles Clay is expected to land with the Buffalo Bills after signing a five-year, $38 million offer sheet with Buffalo Tuesday, March 17, according to a source. The Dolphins have five days to match the offer sheet, but they aren't expected to. Clay is set to make $24.5 million in the first two years of the deal. The total deal is only for $38 million for five years. Miami's last offer to Clay was for four years and $27 million, including less than $14 million guaranteed.
Fantasy Tip: After the Dolphins signed Jordan Cameron to be their tight end, it was basically a foregone conclusion that Clay wouldn't be back in Miami. In Buffalo, he'll join a suddenly much more formidable offense. However, the quarterback situation remains unsettled, and Clay may get lost in the shuffle for aerial targets. He's probably best left as a midrange TE2 with some upside on draft day.

Fantasy Tip: Harvin may not be a starter for the Bills but should have a role in the offense. Harvin's fantasy value likely will be hurt by his injury history as well as the team's uncertain quarterback situation. Harvin could be a No. 4 fantasy wide receiver for owners next season.
