Bills | Jordan Matthews cleared

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 07:19:44 -0700

Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) was cleared to practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, but he'll be limited.

Fantasy Tip: Matthews is iffy to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. If he's good to go, he's in the flex mix.

Bills | Charles Clay week-to-week

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 12:11:04 -0700

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) is considered week-to-week because of his knee injury.

Fantasy Tip: Nick O'Leary probably will take over as the starting tight end while Clay is sidelined. He played well in Week 5 when he recorded five catches and 54 yards after taking over for Clay. Owners in all leagues should be able to find better options to use and can avoid O'Leary.

Bills | Jordan Mathews still not close to return?

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 10:37:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Jordan Matthews (thumb) told reporters he has yet to catch a pass with his right hand since undergoing thumb surgery earlier this month. He noted he has been working with tennis balls instead.

Fantasy Tip: Earlier in the day, head coach Sean McDermott called Matthews "day-to-day," but that appears to be a stretch. As such, it is highly unlikely he'll be ready to take advantage of a favorable matchup versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy is off to a disappointing start, but he is still one of the few every-down backs in the NFL. With the Bills heading into their bye week, McCoy is a potential buy-low candidate.

Bills | Charles Clay out 'multiple weeks'

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 10:28:02 -0700

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday, Oct. 9, and will miss multiple weeks with a torn meniscus and sprained MCL, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Fantasy Tip: It's a punch to the gut for a Buffalo offense already bereft of playmakers in the passing game, as Jordan Matthews is out with a thumb injury and Zay Jones struggling to get anything going as a rookie. The Bills do have a well-timed bye in Week 6, but Clay is obviously going to need more time in that. Nick O'Leary led the team with 54 yards receiving in Week 5 and will be considered the favorite to fill in for Clay during his absence. He's worth an add for all owners in need of a slight boost at tight end.
