Buffalo Bills news, rumors and injuries

Fantasy Tip: The Bills have little choice but to do so now with Sammy Watkins sidelined, but they have failed to follow through on their desire to get Clay the ball a few times already in the short time he has been with the team. The ex-Miami Dolphin has already proven he has 60-catch upside, but Buffalo appears to be dumbfounded in regards to how it will accomplish that. With only 12 targets through three games, Clay should be on waivers in most leagues for now.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Ryan's comments, Bush has been an afterthought for Buffalo's offense this year. He can be left on the waiver wire.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins may be able to return later in the season if he is able to recover from the injury. Owners with roster space can consider keeping Watkins on their bench, but he could also be cut if another receiver is needed. Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin and Charles Clay should be more involved in the passing game, but none of the players will be strong fantasy options.

Fantasy Tip: Clay should be able to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He could have a bigger role in the passing game with Sammy Watkins out. Clay should be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues but probably can be avoided in standard leagues.

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) will miss his second straight game and not play in Week 4 against the New England Patriots. Head coach Rex Ryan also admitted there is "major concern" regarding his receiver's foot injury going forward.
Fantasy Tip: If Watkins is forced to miss half of the season or more, it might be about time to write off the entire Bills' passing game. On the plus side, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is reporting there is nothing wrong structurally with the former No. 4 overall pick's foot. Consider Watkins out indefinitely for now and add Robert Woods wherever possible, even though he will struggle to be anything more than a WR4 in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins appears to have stunted his recovery by suiting up for a short turnaround in Week 2. The Patriots scheme well, and he wouldn't be a real good play beyond a flex option if he suits up.

Fantasy Tip: Clay has been underwhelming in his first year and three games with the Bills. Even with Sammy Watkins not looking promising to play this week, Clay is not a viable starting candidate at tight end. The only Bills that should be started if Watkins sits this week are LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor, and maybe Robert Woods as a sleeper.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins may be a game-time decision for Week 4, but it appears like he is a long shot for the game at this point. He likely will be limited if he is active for the game and may not be a great fantasy option. Owners may want to avoid Watkins until he has recovered from the injury.

Fantasy Tip: Clay appears to be on track to play in Week 4 and should have a solid role in the passing game. Clay has not posted great numbers over the first three games this season and probably should be considered a No. 2 tight end at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins is a significant question mark this week, and even if he plays, he faces a tough scheming team in the New England Patriots. He's a risky flex option this week.
