Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods (hip) is not expected to play Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Rex Ryan. The statuses of WR Percy Harvin (hip) and RBs Bryce Brown (hamstring) and Anthony Dixon (calf) are uncertain.
Fantasy Tip: The Bills have had their fair share of injuries this offseason, especially on offense. Woods and Harvin are the more notable absences of the four. Harvin is a risky proposition in fantasy drafts this year considering his injury history. Woods is a less risky option and worth a look as a WR4 or WR5.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins is being treated cautiously and is expected to play in Week 1. He's a mid-to-low WR2 in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: Manuel has been a distant third in the QB competition for most of camp. This could be his final chance to impress. He's not worth drafting in single-year leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Shady is a high-end RB1 that may not make it out of the first round.

Fantasy Tip: All indications are that Woods' injury is not of the serious nature. He is expected to start opposite Sammy Watkins and makes for a decent WR3/4 or flex fantasy option in deeper leagues when healthy.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Percy Harvin (hip) was in uniform for the start of practice Tuesday, Aug. 25, but he was not in pads. He worked nearly the entire practice with the strength and conditioning staff. Head coach Rex Ryan said he would prefer Harvin play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, but said it is likely Harvin won't suit up until the final exhibition game against the Detroit Lions.
Fantasy Tip: Harvin has been brittle during his NFL career, but when he is healthy and used properly he can be quite a weapon. Fantasy owners are wise to add him in the middle- to late rounds, but be sure to have plenty of other alternatives for when those nagging injuries crop up with Harvin.

The Buffalo Bills are playing it safe with WR Sammy Watkins (glute), and he remained out of team drills Tuesday, Aug. 25. He was in full pads Tuesday, and worked with other players going through rehab. The team has played it safe with Watkins over the past two weeks, and held him out of the last preseason game due to his sore glute.
Fantasy Tip: The injury certainly doesn't sound serious, and the Bills are simply trying to preserve Watkins for the regular season rather than risk him during games which do not mean anything in the standings. He is a decent middle- to late-round pick for depth at wide receiver in most fantasy formats.

Buffalo Bills TE Nick O'Leary is not guaranteed of a spot on the 53-man roster, head coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday, Aug. 25. "I don't know," Ryan said. "I can tell you that is some great competition. I like the way (TE Chris Gragg) has really picked his game up, and (TE MarQueis Gray), obviously (TE Matthew Mulligan) brings you the element of being that tremendous blocker."
Fantasy Tip: The Bills sunk a sixth-round pick into O'Leary, so it would be a bit of an upset if he didn't make the squad. However, he has done nothing to differentiate himself from the others and stand out.

Fantasy Tip: The concerning part of this is that Clay said the injury started nagging. Plus, he's had issues with his knee before. He does have some good potential in Buffalo, but he's not a starting tight end this year.

Buffalo Bills QB EJ Manuel said he loves being with the Bills and wants to stay with the team, despite seemingly being the third quarterback on the depth chart. Manuel has rolled well with the punches, however, saying he's taking what is given to him and just doing his best. He is also looking forward to Buffalo's third preseason game this weekend. "I don't know how it's going to play out as far as the game yet, but for me, whatever reps I do get, I just try to take advantage of them like I did the past two weeks," Manuel said.
Fantasy Tip: Manuel played well last week against the Cleveland Browns, throwing for 111 yards and one touchdown. Unfortunately for Manuel, Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel haven't really done anything to force the Bills to demote them. Manuel may very well make the final roster, but it doesn't look like he'll start at this point.

Buffalo Bills QBs Matt Cassel, Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel may each be rotated in with the starting unit Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Joe Buscaglia of WGR Sports Radio 550. All three quarterbacks have received first-team repetitions the last two practices.
Fantasy Tip: Taylor was impressive when he started last week in the Bills' second preseason contest. Taylor gives the Bills more options with the offense, but Cassel has much more experience. Manuel seems to be the third option. None of them are worth starting on your fantasy squad.

Fantasy Tip: Harvin has immense deep-ball ability, he just has to stay healthy. He's worth a WR5 flyer late in drafts.
