Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (collarbone) underwent surgery Monday, Oct. 20, to repair his broken collarbone. Head coach Doug Marrone said he will have to wait to hear from the doctors about a timetable.
Fantasy Tip: Spiller probably will miss most, if not all, of the rest of the season because of the injury. Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown likely will share the work until Fred Jackson comes back. They could be flex options on FantasyScore depending on their price.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson probably will miss at least a few weeks, so owners should keep him on their bench until he is healthy. Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown likely will see time at running back, but Dixon probably has more fantasy value and could be a flex option.

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (groin) said his adductor longus pulled off the bone about a centimeter, and he felt a pop. The injury is typically a four-week injury, but surgery is not required.
Fantasy Tip: Anthony Dixon is expected to start in Jackson's absence, but Bryce Brown could figure in as well. Look for Dixon to be a solid bargain bin flex option against the New York Jets in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Check Dixon's price on FantasyScore Tuesday, Oct. 21, and keep him in mind as a flex option. Bryce Brown should also be involved in the offense, but he'd need to be involved in at least a 50-50 split to warrant consideration.

Fantasy Tip: Expect to see a mixture of Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown. Brown had a phenomenal preseason and is very similar to Spiller. He's a home run hitter and could have been starting for a few other teams in the league. Keep an eye out this week to see if the team tips their hand as to what they plan to do at running back.

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (groin) had an MRI Sunday, Oct. 19, and he will be out at least two weeks due to the groin injury he suffered in the Week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings. The team has a bye in Week 9, so it is possible he returns in Week 10 and misses just one game.
Fantasy Tip: With Jackson sidelined, and C.J. Spiller expected to be down a while, Anthony Dixon is expected to start at least one game with Bryce Brown likely active and serving as the primary backup.

Fantasy Tip: With Jackson dinged up, and C.J. Spiller set for collarbone surgery Monday, it will be Anthony Dixon as the featured back in Buffalo going forward, unless Jackson's ailment turns on to be minor. Bryce Brown might also factor into the backfield mix.

Buffalo Bills RB Bryce Brown was inactive for the seventh time this season in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. However, with injuries to RBs Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (collarbone), head coach Doug Marrone said Sunday, Oct. 19, that he would "have no problem bringing up Bryce."
Fantasy Tip: Brown is worth keeping an eye on. He had some success in the past in a stop in Philadelphia, and he could see touches behind Anthony Dixon going forward if Spiller and Jackson miss time.

Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Dixon was pressed into duty in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings due to injuries to RBs Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (collarbone). Dixon finishes with 13 carries for 51 yards, and he added three receptions for 15 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Spiller has a serious injury, and will likely be out multiple weeks. Jackson's status is uncertain, and he will have an MRI Monday to determine the severity of his injury. Dixon could be the featured back for a while, and as such he could be a steal in FantasyScore if his salary remains reasonable.

Fantasy Tip: Watkins saw 14 targets in the game, and he might have been used a lot more due to his Clemson brethren, C.J. Spiller, going down to an injury. Spiller and Fred Jackson both left the game, so the Bills had to get away from the run. The injuries could be good news for Watkins' fantasy prospects going forward, if the Bills are forced into a more aerial-based offensive attack.

Fantasy Tip: Spiller likely would miss several weeks if he has a broken clavicle, so owners will need to wait to see the results of the X-rays.
