Head coach Dick Jauron said, "Shawn Nelson we're kind of anticipating that he may be able to come back this week." Bills | Meredith expected to miss a few weeks The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills OT Jamon Meredith (knee) is expected to miss a few weeks after spraining his right knee in Week 8. Bills | Byrd seeing specialist The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills FS Jairus Byrd (groin) is traveling to visit with a specialist after injuring his groin in Week 8. Head coach Dick Jauron said the trip had been planned as a checkup to see how Byrd has healed after having surgery to fix a sports hernia last year. Bills | Expected to promote Hardy to active roster The Associated Press reports the Buffalo Bills are expected to promote WR James Hardy (knee) to their active roster because he has shown that he is fully recovered from knee surgery. He has been progressing well and performing better in cognitive testing. Bills | Offense continues to struggle Mark Gaughan, of The Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills' offense managed nine first downs during the team's Week 8 game. It was the first time since 1971 they went consecutive games with single-digit first downs. The Bills are 1-8 in their last nine home games, and have scored a combine one offensive touchdown in their last six home losses. The team has gone six straight games with 160 or fewer net passing yards, their longest streak since 1997. They have also gone six consecutive games with fewer than 300 total yards, tied for the fourth longest streak in team history. Lindell now has 674 points with the team and sole possession of second place on the team's all-time list behind former PK Steve Christie. Bills | Fitzpatrick developing chemistry with receivers Allen Wilson, of The Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick appears to be developing some chemistry with his receivers. "Lee's been my guy when I've been in there," Fitzpatrick said. "I enjoy throwing to Terrell (Owens) and Lee and Josh (Reed) as well. Lee's done a good job."
