Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed (neck) said Friday, Feb. 5, the nerve impingement in his neck has gotten worse. He reiterated that he remains undecided on whether he will return to the Ravens or retire. "I still have to see doctors," Reed said. Reed acknowledged that he's been contemplating retirement the past two years. The nerve impingement in his neck has affected his hip injury, according to Reed.

Cindrich said he talked with Ravens chief negotiator Pat Moriarty about the situation and Moriarty said he would talk to Newsome about the request.

"He's got to be able to run the kind of routes, catch the ball in pressure situations, break things off at the right depth, make the right adjustments in pressure situations, and do the kinds of things that are going to help us move the football and win games. Those other three guys did that better - offseason, training camp, throughout the year. I think we tried to put Demetrius in situations to be successful as much as we could. And we need more," Harbaugh said.

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said he is "certainly not happy" about the number of penalties by the team last season. Bisciotti said, "It's trying to make these young guys understand that springing a guy for a 50-yard punt return by blocking some guy in the back is not worth it. We've got to address it." The team led the league with 1,094 penalty yards this season. They were 1-4 in games where they had nine or more penalties.
