Baltimore Ravens TE Benjamin Watson said he was still working on his timing after the first day of training camp Thursday, July 28, and at one point, he lined up on the outside in a four-receiver set.
Fantasy Tip: Watson isn't going to be able to duplicate the numbers he put up last year while in New Orleans, and he isn't worth drafting outside of leagues that require two tight ends.

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) said he wants to win the starting tight end job during training camp. He said he does not believe that he has lost a step even though he missed the last two years because of hip problems.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation during the preseason to see how Pitta is used in the offense. He was able to post solid numbers before he suffered his hip injuries but is now a risky option for fantasy owners. He is competing for playing time with Benjamin Watson and Maxx Williams, so he may not be a great option in some fantasy leagues.

Free-agent OT Jake Long (Falcons) declined to sign an injury waiver Friday, July 29, and will not sign with the Baltimore Ravens. Long texted ESPN saying that his knee feels great, was enthused by Dr. James Andrews' review of his knee this week, and he looks forward to playing this season.

Fantasy Tip: Gillmore has ample competition to stave off, and this will only compound it. He's merely a watch-list player for now.

Fantasy Tip: Smith's tenacity and will has always been great. However, "Father Time" is undefeated. At 37, coming back from this catastrophic injury, it looks really bleak that Smith can be a dependable fantasy receiver. He'll be in the WR4 mix, but that's an area where you can find receivers with upside.

Fantasy Tip: Smith still holds clout in fantasy, but at 37, it's hard to envision a return to anything more than desperation WR3 or a high-end WR4. Perriman has the talent worth rolling the dice on as a WR5.

Fantasy Tip: Dixon is the only one of the trio that probably has a spot on the roster. T-Rich and Taliaferro are competing with others for the final running back spot. Neither is worth much fantasy consideration yet with so much depth and uncertainty on the roster. Dixon is in the RB5 mix.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace has a sizeable opportunity with the Ravens, who could lean heavily on him in the slot. He turns 30 in a couple of days, and this could be his last chance. He's in the WR5 flyer mix in fantasy.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear what Wallace's ailment is, but he did fail a conditioning test recently. His status will need to be monitored throughout training camp, but Wallace shouldn't be drafted as more than a WR5 in standard formats in a deep Baltimore wide receiver corps.

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) is considered day-to-day because of his medial collateral ligament sprain. Head coach John Harbaugh said Dixon could return to practice as early as Friday, July 29.
Fantasy Tip: The Ravens probably will give Dixon a few days off, but it appears he likely will be back on the field at some point next week. He will be fighting for the No. 3 running back job during training camp and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he felt comfortable during practice Thursday, July 28, but wishes he was able to complete more passes. He did not try to run during practice but did move around the pocket. It is not known if he will receive any playing time in the first preseason game or if the team will hold him out until the third preseason game.
Fantasy Tip: Flacco probably will not play much in the preseason but will be ready for the start of the regular season. He will have solid tight ends to work with in 2016 but the wide receiver corps has been struggling with injuries. Flacco should be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Taliaferro is still dealing with the foot injury he suffered last season, so he will have to wait to practice. He is expected to compete for one of the final running back spots on the roster and probably will not receive enough touches to have a fantasy impact in 2016 if he makes the team.
