Ravens | Danny Woodhead nearing activation

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 09:59:29 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) is awaiting clearance from team doctors and trainers after getting through most of what the team did in practice leading up to Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: At this point, it would be a surprise if Woodhead isn't active, although he will obviously be on a snap count. Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg announced Thursday Alex Collins will remain the "feature back" even when the Ravens' backfield is fully healthy, but that is unlikely to be the case since Woodhead is so good in the passing game. Woodhead's return should make Javorius Allen an afterthought in most leagues, however.

Ravens | Terrance West practices fully

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 14:30:25 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) was a full practice participant Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: West will take a backseat to Alex Collins upon his return and is part of a four-headed backfield monster in Baltimore. It's best to keep him on your bench for now.

Ravens | Alex Collins will keep lead role

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 10:21:19 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins will remain the featured back despite the returns of RBs Terrance West and Danny Woodhead.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore's backfield is becoming crowded quickly. Collins may continue to be the lead guy, but he will inevitably surrender touches to his cohorts. That being said, he's a viable RB or flex consideration in a favorable matchup even if those guys return.

Ravens | Terrance West fully practices

Wed, 15 Nov 2017 14:19:03 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Both West and Danny Woodhead look to be back in Baltimore's backfield this week. Don't expect them to see a full plate, though, as both backs are coming off extended absences. Take a wait-and-see approach with West in Week 11. That's assuming he's even active.

Ravens | Alex Collins making an impact

Tue, 14 Nov 2017 18:56:19 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Alex Collins ranks 10th in the league with 521 rushing yards since making his debut with the team in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Collins has somehow been unable to find the end zone, but he has started to see some more work in the passing game lately. While Danny Woodhead is almost certain to absorb whatever work there is as a receiver when he returns from the Reserve/Injured list, Collins should have a firm grip on the early-down role and remain a serviceable flex play for the remainder of the season.

Ravens | Danny Woodhead's status uncertain

Mon, 13 Nov 2017 13:13:23 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) will continue to take part in practice, but head coach John Harbaugh said he is not sure if Woodhead will be activated from the Reserve/Injured list this week.

Fantasy Tip: Woodhead appears to be making progress and could play a game in the near future, so owners should monitor the situation. He should be involved in the passing game when he returns and will be a valuable option for owners in point-per-reception leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco wants to air it out

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 19:27:43 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said the offense needs to be more aggressive going forward. "We need to go after it," Flacco said Wednesday, Nov. 8. "We got to go attack."

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ranks last in the NFL in yards per pass attempt, and his 10 interceptions are tied for the third most. Attempting a few more deep balls certainly can't hurt his numbers, but Flacco isn't likely to move out of low-end QB2 territory any time soon.

Ravens | Danny Woodhead unsure about Week 11 return

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 10:22:50 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) practice Tuesday, Nov. 7, but declined to tell reporters when he is planning on returning to game action. "I'm feeling good, but I understand there's a process," Woodhead said.

Fantasy Tip: Woodhead is eligible to return from the Reserve/Injured list for the team's Week 11 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. There's been no indication he won't be ready to go by then, and the 32-year-old also has nothing to gain by declaring himself ready to go now anyway. Until there is reason to believe differently, owners should expect him to have him available as a low-end RB2/flex option in PPR leagues following this week's bye and replace Javorius Allen in most situations.

Ravens | Nick Boyle should be ready after bye

Baltimore Ravens TE Nick Boyle (toe) should be available to play after the team's Week 10 bye, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Ravens | Baltimore running backs to return to practice

Mon, 06 Nov 2017 13:22:28 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RBs Danny Woodhead (hamstring) and Terrance West (calf) will return to practice Tuesday, Nov. 7, and Wednesday, Nov. 8, before receiving four days off for the Ravens' bye week.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore's backfield will be a lot more crowded in the near future. Alex Collins, Javorius "Buck" Allen, Woodhead and West are all capable running backs who deserve playing time. When at full health, though, Woodhead is their most valuable PPR back. West and Collins can't be viewed as more than flex options until we have a clearer picture of their involvement.
