Katie Nelson, of the New York Daily News, reports former New York Giants LB Lawrence Taylor was arrested late Sunday, Nov. 8, for leaving the scene of a traffic accident outside Miami. Police said he was behind the wheel of a Cadillac Edcalade when he ripped the rear tire off a Ford van and sent it spinning. Taylor kept going, and police later found him in a parking lot where his vehicle was missing a right front tire. Taylor told police he thought he had hit a guard rail. No one was injured in the accident, and Taylor was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. He spent an hour in a correctional center before being released on a $500 bond.

Officials with the developer Majestic Realty Co. have said they would begin approaching teams about moving to the area when the 2009 season ends. The developer's list of possible targets consists of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Buffalo Bills, the Minnesota Vikings, the St. Louis Rams, the San Diego Chargers, the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers.

ESPN.com reports former NFL players have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or other memory-related conditions at rates much higher than the national population, according to a study commissioned by the NFL, The New York Times reported. The survey found that 6.1 percent of players aged 50 and older reported that they had received a dementia-related diagnosis, five times higher than the cited national average of 1.2 percent, according to the report. Players ages 30 through 49 reported dementia-related diagnoses at a rate of 1.9 percent, 19 times the national average of 0.1 percent, according to the report.
