Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson was knocked out of the Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday, July 13, due to tire problems. He suffered a left-rear flat tire on the eighth lap of the race and experienced another left-rear tire problem three laps later, when his No. 48 car skidded into a wall. Johnson later said the tire exploded on him as soon as he hit the brakes.

Wood Brothers Racing driver Trevor Bayne will be promoted to a full-time ride with Roush-Fenway Racing in 2015. The team will bring back the No. 6 car which adorned the cars of owner Jack Roush when he first broke into NASCAR back in 1988. He will carry his AdvoCare sponsorship from Nationwide to Sprint Cup.

Driver Regan Smith drove the No. 48 Chevrolet in Johnson's absence. Johnson is in the lead in the Sprint Cup standings heading into this weekend's Cup race.

BK Racing announced Thursday, Jan. 17, that driver David Reutimann will race in the No. 83 Toyota full time in the Sprint Cup Series this year. Driver Landon Cassill has left the organization. Crew chief Pat Tryson, who worked with Reutimann at Michael Waltrip Racing, is expected to work as the crew chief. Driver Travis Kvapil will continue in the team's No. 93 car with crew chief Todd Anderson.
