Fantasy Tip: Happ has tossed quality starts in each of his six outings this year and should be viewed as a solid starting option in most fantasy formats. His next start will come Tuesday, May 10, against the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion has two home runs and eight RBI over his last two contests and now leads the Jays with 24 RBI through 30 games. He is a must-start in daily fantasy contests while he's on fire offensively.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Michael Saunders is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Derek Holland Thursday, May 5. OF Ezequiel Carrera is starting in left field and hitting ninth. Also, OF Kevin Pillar moves up to the leadoff spot.
Fantasy Tip: Carrera is more of a defensive player and should be ignored in all fantasy formats. Pillar's value takes a significant jump moving up to the leadoff spot in a potent offense. Consider him a sleeper selection in DFS action this evening.

Fantasy Tip: Tulo has just one extra-base hit over the past 10 games, and his batting average hasn't been over the Mendoza line since he went 1-for-3 on opening day. Despite the struggles, you have to stick with him if you have gone this long with him. Don't compound matters by dropping him and having him re-gain his form on another fantasy owner's roster, and certainly don't trade him while his value is at its nadir.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion entered the game with just one RBI over his past six outings, and it was just his second multi-RBI performance in the past 13 games. Despite the slight hiccup and his paltry .245 batting average, he remains a must-start fantasy option across all formats for his power potential. The production could come in bunches very shortly.

Fantasy Tip: The good news is Donaldson faces a left-handed starter Thursday, so he figures to rebound. He is 10-for-24 (.417) with two doubles, a triple, three homers, six RBIs and a 1.491 OPS against southpaws this season. So fantasy owners and DFS players, keep that in mind when setting lineups Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez has turned in quality starts in five of his six outings, and has a solid 2.82 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP while he has amassed 34 strikeouts over 38 1/3 innings. Sanchez is an unheralded DFS option, and a solid fantasy play in both seasonal AL-only leagues and most mixed formats right now.

Fantasy Tip: Bautista is struggling mightily at the dish, going 0-12 for with six strikeouts in three games in May, and 2-for-25 (.080) since April 25 to drop his average from .268 to .219 just since May 25. Despite the awful stretch, Bautista has the ability to pile up extra-base hits and RBIs in bunches, and he'll even this out. Fantasy owners just need to be patient, although DFS players can avoid him until he gets into a groove.
Tue, 03 May 2016 23:21:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smoak entered the game with no homers and just four RBIs, so this game was a bit of an anomaly. Don't get too carried away and add him in mixed fantasy formats just yet. However, he isn't a bad reserve in AL-only fantasy leagues for his power potential.
Tue, 03 May 2016 13:50:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Neither player can do much with the lumber, so this likely kills any small fantasy value that Goins might've had in deep AL-only leagues. Barney and Goins are just keeping the seat warm at the keystone for when Devon Travis is healthy enough to return. Travis should be stashed in all leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin (neck) is affected at the plate by his neck ailment, according to manager John Gibbons. Martin has struck out 31 times in 64 at-bats, which is double his strikeout rate from last season.
Fantasy Tip: Martin should be avoided in DFS. If you have the luxury, bench him in traditional formats until things start going better. He might require a cortisone injection and have to rest a couple of days.
Mon, 02 May 2016 20:26:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Dickey has turned it around after a rough start to the season, posting six or more innings in each of his past three outings - including his first two quality starts. Slowly, but surely, Dickey is piecing it together for his nervous fantasy owners.
Mon, 02 May 2016 20:20:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Bautista is hitless in seven at-bats with five strikeouts in two games since the calendar changed to May, and he is just 2-for-20 (.100) with nine strikeouts over the past six games to drop his average from .268 to .231. Despite the rough patch fantasy owners need to stick it out and ride through the storm. He'll straighten it out.
Mon, 02 May 2016 20:19:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pillar has flourished out of the leadoff spot, so fantasy owners can expect not to see him there again. He has raised his average to .290 and has re-emerged as a must-start in AL-only fantasy leagues and DFS play.
Mon, 02 May 2016 13:25:56 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Thole usually is in the starting lineup when R.A. Dickey is pitching. He is hitting only .185 so far this season and should be avoided by owners.
