Fantasy Tip: Pompey earned the starting job but promptly hit .183 with 22 strikeouts in 83 at-bats. Remove him from your options immediately in daily leagues and stash him on your bench in deeper yearly leagues. As for an immediate replacement in Toronto, look at Kevin Pillar ($2,200, 4.4% of cap), who has had some great defensive plays in the outfield.

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion is currently sporting a five-game hitting streak after hitting a single and double against the Cleveland Indians Saturday, May 2. Encarnacion is 8-for-20 with four runs and five RBI during the stretch.
Fantasy Tip: Over the previous 19 games, Encarnacion ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) was 14-for-71 with 14 strikeouts. He has been a streaky hitter in the past and could be in the beginning stages of a scorching surge. FantasyScore players will want keep him in mind, especially when Encarnacion faces favorable pitching matchups.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (collarbone) returned to the lineup after a one-game absence Saturday, May 2, going 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in an 11-4 win over the Cleveland Indians.
Fantasy Tip: Travis ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) picked right up where he left off and showed no signs of lingering effects from the injury. He should be safe to use at FantasyScore going forward.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle allowed eight runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings Friday, May 1, against the Cleveland Indians. This came on top of allowing five runs on 13 hits in his previous start against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Fantasy Tip: Buehrle ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) may be having his second-half slump a little early. Two bad games in a row are reason for concern, and Buehrle owners may want to pull back a bit.

Fantasy Tip: Estrada has pitched 10 2/3 innings of relief and owns a 0.84 ERA in six outings out of the bullpen for Toronto. His addition to the rotation will instantly make him a waiver wire target in deep AL-only leagues. He'll start out as a very cheap FantasyScore pitching option that could be a sleeper while facing the right teams.

Fantasy Tip: Expect Martin's ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) tenure in the cleanup spot to be short lived. However, it significantly boosts his fantasy value, as he'll hit behind the team's three best hitters. Martin is an excellent FantasyScore option at a shallow position Friday.

Fantasy Tip: With Jose Reyes and Devon Travis out of the lineup, Donaldson ($5,800, 11.2% of cap) is apparently the next best option to lead off for the Jays. It really doesn't impact Donaldson significantly, although, the players who will bat in front of him at the bottom of the order before his second trip to the plate aren't likely to provide him many RBI opportunities. While it isn't a deal breaker, it could be a factor in a coin-flip decision. Continue to view Donaldson as a top-tier option at the hot corner for FantasyScore contests.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Travis ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) from your lineups Friday. It appears to be a rest day for the youngster, and he likely needs one, as he seems to be consistently flirting with injuries and has already dealt with a rib injury. Goins ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has limited upside, but that is reflected in his cap hit, and he 4-for-11 during his current three-game hitting streak. Still, you're digging deep and living on the edge if you're turning to Goins for your FantasyScore lineups.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Daniel Norris was demoted to Triple-A Buffalo Friday, May 1. It is expected to be temporary, and an opportunity for Norris to reset and work on his consistency to return to the Blue Jays better equipped for the major league level.
Fantasy Tip: Norris is worth stashing in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats, but in the majority of formats he can be dropped. He'll hold no FantasyScore value until he returns. Check back for updates on his progress with Buffalo and a potential recall date.

Fantasy Tip: Travis ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is surely at a pace that he won't sustain over a full season, especially since he never hit over 16 home runs in the minors. However, he has the skills to continue to produce at a position that the Blue Jays have struggled to find consistency at for a long time. He remains an excellent FantasyScore option while he's hot in this potent lineup.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Michael Saunders is not in the starting lineup Thursday, April 30. OF Danny Valencia is starting in right field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Cleveland Indians SP T.J. House.
Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been hitting well in the early going, batting .455 (10-for-22), and his placement near the middle of this potent lineup shouldn't be overlooked today. It also should be noted that Valencia has excelled against lefties in his career, batting .333 against them. House has been roughed up often in 2015, too.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) played his third straight game as the designated hitter Wednesday, April 29, against the Boston Red Sox. He is unable to throw well enough to play the field after being sidelined for five games due to a right shoulder strain.
Fantasy Tip: Bautista was hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts. FantasyScore players would do well to avoid Joey Bats ($5,800; 11.6% of cap) until he gets a little closer to 100 percent.
Wed, 29 Apr 2015 12:02:43 -0700
Toronto Blue Jays C Russell Martin is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 29. C Josh Thole is starting behind the plate and hitting eighth in the batting order against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello.
Fantasy Tip: Thole ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is likely to be R.A. Dickey's personal catcher for each of his starts, so it's not a huge surprise that Martin is sitting today. Thole isn't a strong FantasyScore option this evening, as he hit only .232 (23-for-99) with seven RBI against right-handers in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Cecil was effective in the save chance a day after being named as the closer in place of the shaky Miguel Castro.
Tue, 28 Apr 2015 15:09:36 -0700
Toronto Blue Jays RP Miguel Castro, who was removed from the closer role, will be used in low-leverage situations for the time being in order to regain his footing. RPs Aaron Loup and Roberto Osuna will take over as the primary options for the seventh and eighth innings in front of RP Brett Cecil. "He's not polished off yet, he's so inexperienced, and to be fair to the kid, early on he was big for us," manager John Gibbons argued. "So back him off, build him up and get him back in there. Nobody goes through this game without getting hit around a little bit. To think a 20-year-old kid won't, that just doesn't happen."
Fantasy Tip: Hopefully you held onto Cecil if you owned him after he was demoted from the ninth-inning role early in the season. Aside from AL-only leagues, Castro is a candidate to let go to the waiver wire while he regains his footing and confidence.
