Fantasy Tip: Travis figures to send Darwin Barney back to the bench, and he enters one of the most potent lineups in baseball. Travis hit .306 in nine rehab games, and there's no reason to wait to start him if you own him. He'll be a midrange option in DFS.

Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey allowed four runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings against the New York Yankees Tuesday, May 24, to suffer his sixth loss of the season. He struck out seven batters and walked two during the game.
Fantasy Tip: Dickey has seen his ERA drop one run from the start of the month but still has a 4.60 ERA after allowing nine runs in his last two starts. He is scheduled to pitch against the Boston Red Sox in his next start, which makes him a risky option for owners.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (shoulder) has performed well during his rehab assignment, but there is no official timetable for his return. There is a chance that Travis could be activated from the 15-day disabled list in time for the game against the Boston Red Sox Friday, May 27. Manager John Gibbons said Travis will be a candidate for the leadoff spot when he returns.
Fantasy Tip: Travis has missed the entire 2016 season but may be able to return in the near future. Travis posted solid numbers in 2015 and should be a decent option in deeper fantasy leagues. Ryan Goins will continue to start at second base until Travis returns but is not a strong fantasy option.

Fantasy Tip: This comes at a bad time because Tulowitzki was just starting to string together a hot streak with eight runs, three home runs, 10 RBI and a .313/.358/.604 slash line through his latest 13 games. Stay tuned for updates.

Fantasy Tip: Thole has become the knuckleballer R.A. Dickey's personal catcher, so don't be alarmed that Martin is out today. Neither catcher has done much with the bat this year, though, so consider Thole one to avoid in all daily formats. He's batting .158 with six hits (one home run) in 38 at-bats.

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Justin Smoak is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 24. OF Jimmy Paredes is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi. 1B Edwin Encarnacion is starting at first base and hitting third.
Fantasy Tip: Paredes has made a strong impression in his early days with the club and is hitting .400 (4-for-10) with a home run and two RBI. If he keeps it up, he could continue taking at-bats from Smoak. Paredes doesn't have much pop, though, and is mainly a depth piece in AL-only leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson's home run was his second in the last three games, although he isn't exactly out of the woods yet in regards to the hitting slump that has caused his average to drop from .292 at the beginning of May to .250. The reigning AL MVP could turn it on at any time and should be expected to do so. The Blue Jays have an off-day on Monday, but Donaldson on Tuesday will face New York Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who has yielded two home runs in 10 career at-bats against him.

Fantasy Tip: It turned out to be the only hit in five at-bats for Bautista, who finished the four-game series 5-for-17 with three homers and six RBI - all out of the leadoff spot. The six-time All-Star is still sporting an unsightly .230 average as most of the entire Blue Jays' offense appears to be in a funk. Still, the power potential makes Bautista impossible to sit in any league and his resume suggests his batting average will pick up soon enough. Keep him active in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Barney has at least one hit in four of his last five games and should be an attractive starting candidate in daily fantasy leagues.
Sun, 22 May 2016 07:59:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Travis is 9-for-27 with seven RBI through the first seven games of his rehab assignment. The 25-year-old is worth stashing in most fantasy formats due to his power potential and his overall performance during his rookie campaign last year.

Toronto Blue Jays RP Drew Storen is reportedly being made available to teams searching for bullpen help. Scouts from the Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants were present for the game against the Minnesota Twins Saturday, May 21.
Fantasy Tip: Although Storen tossed a scoreless inning Saturday, he has struggled mightily for much of 2016. The 28-year-old right-hander is 0-2 with two saves and a 7.80 ERA in 18 appearances, with four walks and 16 strikeouts over 15 innings. Depending on where he lands if he is traded, he could be used as either a setup man or a closer.

Fantasy Tip: It could be argued that Justin Smoak and Saunders, who is batting .315 with eight homers and 15 RBI, have been the most consistent hitters lately for a Toronto offense that is surprisingly struggling. (In fact, they are the only Blue Jay regulars batting above .250.) Saunders has homered in three of his last four outings and obviously is a good choice to ride in all formats, especially DFS, for the time being.

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson was ejected in the first inning Saturday, May 21, after appearing to something to home plate umpire Toby Basner as he was walking back to the dugout following a groundout to shortstop.
Fantasy Tip: Perhaps he was just expressing the frustration he and his fantasy owners are feeling. Donaldson is batting .194 with two homers and three RBI in May after hitting .292 with eight home runs and 20 RBI last month. Last year's AL MVP is sure to turn it around soon and needs to remain in weekly lineups, but DFS owners and those in leagues that allow for daily start/sits might want to let Donaldson pick up the pace a bit before reinserting him back into their lineups, assuming they have decent options.
Sat, 21 May 2016 09:01:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Barney is hitting .364 with one home run and two RBI this month and has a chance to be a decent option for owners in daily fantasy leagues.
Fri, 20 May 2016 21:35:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Travis showed plenty of pop in his bat last year prior to being injured, so he is worth stashing in most mixed formats.
