Fantasy Tip: Travis ($2,800, 5.6% of your cap) has been a monster with a .386-5-16 line during the first couple of weeks of the season. At this price, he's a must-start on FantasyScore.

Updating previous reports, Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) is out again Friday, April 24, but he's hoping to return to the lineup as the designated hitter sometime this weekend. The hope is that he'll be back in right field around the middle of next week. Manager John Gibbons said Bautista would take some swings Friday in the cages.
Fantasy Tip: Bautista's ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) shoulder injury isn't believed to be serious, and he should avoid a DL trip. Once he's back in Toronto's starting lineup, he should be a viable FantasyScore weapon in daily games.

Fantasy Tip: Take a wait-and-see approach with Saunders ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) in the majority of formats, as he could be a little rusty initially. However, there is upside in the potent Toronto lineup, and Saunders boasts a nice power-speed combo. In deep mixed leagues, he could be worth a speculative grab if you need outfield help.

Fantasy Tip: With southpaw Drew Smyly on the hill, and making his season debut, Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is worth a speculative dice roll in FantasyScore contests Friday. He is hitting behind the teams top four hitters, and he has a .332/.371/.508 slash line against left-handed pitchers for his career.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Bautista ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) might sit out this weekend to rest his troublesome shoulder. Danny Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is likely to benefit the most until Saunders returns from the disabled list this weekend. Valencia, though, is a low-end third base option that can probably be ignored by daily gamers.

Fantasy Tip: Thole doesn't have any worthwhile fantasy value, and he is starting because he specializes in catching the knuckleball and R.A. Dickey is on the hill.
Thu, 23 Apr 2015 18:06:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) now has four home runs in his last six games after not hitting his first with the Blue Jays until April 16. Donaldson entered the game hitting .322 on the season, and is certainly living up to his high expectations.

Toronto Blue Jays C Dioner Navarro (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring Thursday, April 23, and the move was backdated to April 22. C Josh Thole was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.
Fantasy Tip: With Navarro and Jose Bautista (shoulder) currently sidelined, Danny Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) and Ryan Goins should see consistent playing time, but both are nothing more than dice rolls at FantasyScore in the right matchups.

Fantasy Tip: This is a situation to continue to keep tabs on. While returning as the DH seems positive, if Bautista isn't healthy enough to play the field, is he healthy enough to be in your FantasyScore lineups? Potentially in favorable matchups, but the smart money might be to take a wait-and-see approach with Bautista in daily contests. In seasonal leagues, you'll want to return him to your lineups immediately, though.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for a more detailed report on the severity of Navarro's ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) injury and the recovery timeline. When healthy and in the lineup, Navarro is a nice speculative play in FantasyScore contests. His lack of playing time has made him an AL-only option at this point, though.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, April 23. 3B Danny Valencia is starting in left field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman.
Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap), despite being off to a good start (6-for-10), isn't attractive to FantasyScore users on this getaway day.

Fantasy Tip: Travis has four homers to pull into a three-way lead with more heralded sluggers Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion. At $2,800 (or 5.6% of cap) he is a solid source of power at a cheap price.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis (ribs) is starting at second base and batting second against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, April 22. Travis has been sidelined since suffering a rib contusion Sunday, April 19.
Fantasy Tip: Travis ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is outperforming expectations early in 2015, and he stands to be a great value play for FantasyScore players again Wednesday. Before suffering the injury Sunday, he was riding a seven-game hitting streak with five runs, two home runs, nine RBI with a .379 batting average (11-for-29). Travis is worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues, too.

Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) could land on the disabled list due to his right shoulder strain. Bautista aggravated his shoulder on a throw Tuesday, April 21.
Fantasy Tip: While this is obviously a significant blow to Bautista's fantasy owners, the Jay Birds lineup looks a lot less potent without him, too. It is a negative for the entire team. Additionally, his replacements are fantasy afterthoughts. Expect Kevin Pillar ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Ryan Gonis to see nearly everyday at-bats while Bautista is out. Continue to check back for updates on Bautista's status.

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, April 22. He has been playing through a strain in his right shoulder but aggravated it on a throw during the game Tuesday, April 21.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Bautista ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) from your fantasy lineups Wednesday. The Jays play the series finale against Baltimore Thursday, April 23, so check back for updates on whether Bautista will return to the lineup for that game. When healthy, Bautista is an excellent FantasyScore play, and he has hit two home runs over his past three games.
