Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is 5-0 on the road, which makes him a very disappointing FantasyScore asset. While his home/road splits are bound to even out eventually, Rodriguez has a 4.28 xFIP, and he's not usually worth FantasyScore consideration.

Texas Rangers C Carlos Corporan is making the start behind the plate Saturday, July 4, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Corporan will hit eighth in the order against LHP Hector Santiago, while C Robinson Chirinos comes out of the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Corporan ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has gone 4-for-10 in his last three starts, with one double and one home run. FantasyScore owners can consider Corporan for use in GPP tournaments.

Fantasy Tip: Rua ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting just .208 with three solo homers this season, and he's not much of an option on FantasyScore.

Texas Rangers OF Josh Hamilton isn't in the starting lineup Saturday, July 4, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. OF Ryan Rua will start in left field and hit second in the order against LHP Hector Santiago.
Fantasy Tip: Rua ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting just .182 against southpaws this season, and he should be avoided on FantasyScore, even with the high spot in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison was 1-3 in five starts at Class AAA. Harrison's ERA was an unimpressive 5.97, and he was only striking out 5.65 batters per nine innings. FantasyScore owners will need to see some positive results before investing in the Rangers' one-time ace.
Sat, 04 Jul 2015 14:22:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) opened the season with four strong starts, but he's been roughed up in two of his last three. Gonzalez wasn't able to strikeout more than four batters in any one of his seven starts this season, and he's unlikely to re-emerge as a fantasy option.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) will be activated from the 60-day disabled list Friday, July 3, according to general manager Jon Daniels. Harrison is expected to make his season debut Tuesday, July 7, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, manager Jeff Banister said.
Fantasy Tip: Coming off a long layoff, you can afford to take a wait-and-see approach with Harrison before considering him as an option FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Moreland ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is 12-for-37 (.324) with six home runs and 10 RBI since June 23 even after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts last night. His 14 homers show he has plenty of power to spare, and he makes for a great value play on FantasyScore while he's hot, especially against Gausman, who is making only his second start this season.

Fantasy Tip: Feliz had been on an extended rehab assignment which began Saturday, June 6. He was working his way back from surgery Saturday, May 23, to remove an abscess on his right side. Feliz will return to the bullpen and potentially work his way into save chances. However, since Shawn Tollenson recorded his first save Wednesday, May 20, he has a 1.65 ERA, 11 total saves and a firm grasp on the closer role. Feliz is nothing more than a desperation add in the majority of formats at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Martinez ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) had allowed 23 earned runs in 35 innings over six starts since June 3 after a nice start in the Texas rotation. It's unknown who will replace Martinez in the rotation. Stay tuned. With Matt Harrison and Derek Holland both nearing returns, though, Martinez may not get another chance.

Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor (mouth) underwent a dental procedure Wednesday, July 1, which is partly why he is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Odor ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has a 1.040 OPS with two home runs, nine RBI and four stolen bases over his 53 plate appearances since rejoining the Rangers. While hot, he is a solid FantasyScore option, and he is worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues. Expect him back in the lineup sooner than later.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:34:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Choo ($3,500, 7.0% of cap), despite a poor average this year, can still be valuable for FantasyScore owners for his power. However, a move down in the order and a matchup against a lefty say to avoid him tonight. Choo is hitting .146 (15-for-103) with just one of his 10 homers against southpaws this year.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:30:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Andrus ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) gains some daily value with a move up in the order, but he still is devoid of power and hasn't been running as much as he did earlier in his career. However, he has good marks against lefties this year (.283 with two home runs) and could be a sleeper pick that returns decent value this evening.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:27:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rua ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting under .200 (.182) on the season with just a home run and RBI, and he's been even worse against lefties in limited at-bats (.158-1-1). Avoid him on FantasyScore.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:21:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Alberto ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) has limited power upside (zero home runs, three RBI in 68 at-bats), although his start today and placement atop the lineup deserves your attention at FantasyScore, albeit as a desperation sleeper pick.
