Fantasy Tip: Hamilton ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has just 1 hit in his first 11 at-bats since returning to the Rangers, but he has the potential to go on a tear at any time. He remains a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore, but it wouldn't hurt to let him have one solid game at the plate before taking a chance on him.

Texas Rangers SP Chi Chi Gonzalez is likely to be called up from Class AAA Round Rock to make the start against the Boston Red Sox Saturday, May 30. Gonzalez was the team's first-round draft pick back in 2013, and he'll be making his major league debut. SP Phil Klein, who made two spot starts in the rotation, was optioned to Round Rock Thursday, May 28. SP Ross Detwiler (shoulder), who threw a bullpen session Tuesday, May 26, is unlikely to be ready. Gonzalez is 3-5 with a 4.15 ERA in eight starts in the minors this year, and he's given up four earned runs in his last 16 1/3 innings over three starts. He isn't likely to go over five innings with the Rangers this weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez will be very cheap on FantasyScore if he comes up to make his major league debut Saturday against Boston, but he should be ignored everywhere in what's likely to be just one start for the youngster before heading back to the minors.

Fantasy Tip: Holland is worth monitoring in mixed leagues, but he's not yet worthy of stashing. Holland has suffered one injury after another over the last couple seasons, and he won't be worth owning until he actually takes to the mound for a meaningful game.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison is a long way from returning any fantasy value, and he should be left on the waiver wire in the majority of formats. At best, he could reward a speculative stash in AL-only leagues.

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder, who has 10 home runs, 12 doubles and 38 RBI this year, has done a much better job of going the other way with pitches to beat the shift against him. All of his home runs have been pulled, but 28.2% of his batted balls have gone the opposite way, which is more than 3% from his last full season in 2013. He's also excelling against pitches on the outer third part of the plate, hitting .351 with a .505 slugging percentage and a 20.7 miss percentage compared to a .251 average, .361 slugging percentage and 26.3 miss percentage in 2013.
Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has responded nicely after a lost season in 2014, and he's been a steal for those that drafted him this year. The addition of Josh Hamilton to the Texas lineup should give Fielder even more protection, and he should continue to be a strong FantasyScore play.

Fantasy Tip: Field ($2,800, 5.6% of cap), a righty, is out of the lineup as the Red Sox have lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the hill. Rosales ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has a .357 average with five hits, one home run and a stolen base in the past seven days. He is a decent start at this low cost.

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder has hit nine of his 10 home runs in May and has the American League's best batting average at .368. Fielder went to designated-hitter duty this season, and he is using bats from 3B Adrian Beltre's collection.
Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is a year removed from a neck issue that may have also hampered his final season with the Detroit Tigers. Surgery, a new attitude, and Beltre's bats appear to have helped out. A lot of it is also attributed to Fielder, who is now a must-start in FantasyScore leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Detwiler ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is 0-5 on the year and is sporting a 6.95 ERA, so he's strictly an AL-only option for owners just looking for a warm body if he returns to the rotation. You should ignore him at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Struggles were expected for Hamilton ($3,400, 6.8% of cap), who hasn't really picked up a bat in an MLB game for several months. You may want to leave him on the sidelines until that bat shows signs of life.

Fantasy Tip: Lewis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) had previously won four of his six decisions, so chalk this up to an off day on the mound. Keep an eye on him going forward.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Martin ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) from your fantasy lineups Wednesday. He is reeling along a 7-for-36 stretch with just three runs, one home run, one RBI and one stolen base over his last 14 games. DeShields ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is sporting a .441 on-base percentage over his past 14 games with 14 runs and four stolen bases. He is an excellent target for FantasyScore players Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: DeShields ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games with 14 runs, five RBI, four stolen bases and a .327/.441/.469 slash line. He is an excellent low-priced flier with upside for FantasyScore players Wednesday, especially setting the table for a clicking Texas offense. The Rangers are averaging seven runs per game over their last seven contests.

Texas Rangers SP Colby Lewis has allowed a home run to both Cleveland Indians OFs Michael Brantley and Brandon Moss, and they have a 1.119 and 1.012 career OPS against Lewis, respectively. Additionally, the current Indians roster is 25-for-89 (.281 batting average) lifetime against Lewis. Lewis faces the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, May 27.
Fantasy Tip: Lewis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has allowed five earned runs in consecutive games, so after a solid start, he has begun to regress to the mediocre hurler we've seen over the past four seasons -- 4.24 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 7.9 K/9. FantasyScore players should view Lewis as a high-risk source of cap relief Wednesday, and likely going forward. In most cases, he is an ill-advised option.

Fantasy Tip: Chirinos ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is likely getting a normal night off from catching. Corporan ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .091 in his last 12 plate appearances and is not worth the start.

Fantasy Tip: DeShields ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) looks like he's getting a normal night off, as he and Shin-Soo Choo have formed a fairly good 1-2 punch at the top of the lineup. Martin ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is worth a flier in your league as he is hitting .333 (6-for-18) with a home run and stolen base.
